Focus on right track

If you observe the picture keenly, the focus is on the leaves and not the bud!

And the picture tells you right that –
You’re the director of your life – you choose where to put the focus. Focus is a funny thing — it changes everything. For example, your focus shapes your life. So if you want to re-design your life, just reshape your focus. The most interesting thing about focus is…. If you put it in right direction it makes you a master and if it’s applied in wrong direction it makes you slave…

So before focussing on something, try to focus on what you are planning to focus is right!!

Don’t Waste Food!

I love social events and so be it a simple birthday or huge fat wedding, be it a religious one or a normal get-together I will make sure to be present and shake hands with new people enhancing my network. Last Sunday, after the morning break fast at Mama’s place and whole day long cake workshop, the social bee in me took me to “Maheshwari Samaj’s Sankrant Milan (a small function where we had dance competitions, games for ladies followed by dinner).
I would just like to share a very beautiful incidence that happened – After all the performances everyone proceeded to the dinner counters. Every thing seemed normal till the time people started approaching the Used plates counter. It is quite usual that even if you don’t throw food in waste bin at your own homes, when one is in such social gatherings – we simply try tasting every item placed on the counter and throw the ones we did not like much. Same did happen that evening, people started trying on all items and when they were full, the rest of the items in plate were taken to the Used Plate counter to be washed off with the plates!
What was new in this – There were two men (Mr Krishna Saboo and Mr Bang) standing voluntarily near the USED PLATE Counter wearing a smile on their faces informing all those who arrived with food in their plates (which was to be thrown) to get empty plates or else they will eat the leftovers!! Amazing and Hats Off to the efforts taken for an attempt to avoid wastage of food! People had to eat all that they had taken in their plates and that day there was not a single bread which was wasted!
Thankful to the attempt taken by you people. It is truly a lesson of not wasting food, as well as an example of how things can be conveyed in a simple way without any show-off!

(Accept this blog as a token of gratitude on behalf of everyone!)

Mr Krishna Saboo and Mr Bang – a great job done!

Force!

If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the inside.”

A wonderful quote read at one of our client’s premises! The audit place is usually seen as pressure and deadlines with an expectation to have a highly active mind to catch up all the discrepancies and hidden transactions of all the entire year! So here normally I am on a mood of complete professionalism where the usual chatter box of my own self is turned to on to mute mode and mind is all vigilant!

Gazing around the premises to take a rough idea of the nature of business, I came across this inspiring quote. It just took my attention away, as it had so much to be thought on!

Forces inside you can make you a complete new person – kind of ready to face the world! It can shape you and sharpen you! It had multiple meanings – and I could just not stop thinking ahead on every front! Being as simple as – People may scream that it is high time for you to continue and suggest to give up, circumstances may shout where you feel like that is all you can do but one single thought from your heart whispering to you in the lowest voice possible can get you new rays of hope. Smiling through all once if you trust that inner voice you might as well have a cake walk through all backbreaking situations!

Just sit back and think on this quote and start a journey of self-motivation!

Smile and spread smiles!!!

Just do it!!

So, everyone one of us is gifted with this beautiful gift of 365 new days and thousands of opportunities rushing in to make your life more beautiful than before!

Wishing everyone loads of smiles, success, joys and happiness this year! With this I would also wish you to have the strength to fight every difficult situation which will be testing you this year!

Well, everyone might have made a few resolutions, if not in black and white atleast you must have thought it for sure! I would just like to add a single line of three words to all of that list of to-do-things or must achieve targets in that list of yours! JUST DO IT!

Yes! If you dared to think of it means you have the potential to do it! Did you write in your goals that you wanna fly like a bird or something like you wanna walk on water? Of course, not right? SO that is it, if you have genuinely written something in your targets for the upcoming year, it means either consciously or sub consciously you know that, yes, I can do this!

So, let the year be like – I will do it! Come what may, even if you feel rejected, down or something like “will it be possible?” let your inner self shout out as loud to you as possible – JUST DO IT!

Because you can do it!

That old man….

Few morning sunshine have so much in them to teach you, they have so much to display that the teachings are as bright as the sun itself!

Something same happened this morning, with all cleaning stuff at home before Diwali there was lot of things which were old and to be scrapped out! Of course, the two factors – one being Indian and second being a middle-class Marwari family – the scrap was not just waste it was to be sold to the scrap seller and that was my so-called hard-earned money after all the cleaning done! (I hope a few of you can relate to me!)
Dad, has been selling scrap to an old man since last 12-15 years and he too very religiously comes to our place every Diwali in that tone “Sahib, Diwali ki Saaf-Safaai huyi ya naahi abtak? (Sir, is the Diwali cleaning done, so that he could collect the scrap) This time too he came, this old man nearly in his late 70s was so very active to pick up the heavy boxes filled with books which I could not even lift from my room to the outer corridor of my house, he picked all the papers, the cardboards, all the tins, plastic and was ready with the all calculations done. He handed over the money to me and left.

The incidence was done, but that old wrinkled face, tired watery eyes, the chapped lips, the sweaty skin covered with an old patchy shirt (but which was very clean), a little weary chappal which was stitched at the ends was all just haunting me with so much inspiration! Though he wasn’t having a very luxurious life or an AC cabin for his job, he did wear a beautiful smile. He never had an sports class car instead it was just a cart which he had to push the entire day long even when the sun showed its cruelty with those high flames! Nor did he have a branded pair of shoes or something which he could flaunt off!

But then he had something which most of us lack today even in our business class cars, wearing a Rado in one hand and eyes peeping out from corner of a brand-new gold-plated Ray-Ban – he had honesty and satisfaction of what he was doing, he wore a smile and was contended with what he did.

While collecting the scrap he said something very beautiful to me, “Didi, mehnat ka kama ke khaaye bina neend naahi aavat hai, aaj tak kabhi bhi kisi se be-imaani naahi kare hai hum (in that typical accent of his) (Which simply meant, Didi, there is no peace to sleep without working hard and earning money, till date I haven’t ever cheated anyone in my job)
So beautifully he taught me to earn as much as you deserve, as much as your hard work deserves gives you a sense of satisfaction. The morning will inspire me for lifetime to be honest and sincere in whatever one does!! If I am not wrong the teachings of Islam rightly say “Aaram ka paisa haram hai”

So, what I learnt was

  • Be satisfied in whatever you do, life has it own way to surprise you, hard work never goes unpaid!
  • Keep smiling, life observes you every single minute!
  • And lastly, be honest in whatever you do!

Smile and spread smiles. Get inspired and spread the vibes! Happy morning guys!

Bappa Morya….!!!

One of the most awaited festival of entire Maharashtra – Ganesh Chaturthi!!!

Where Lord Ganesha is welcomed with great respect, joy and love to everyone’s home!! Staying with us for 10 days, he makes the atmosphere vibrate in energy – all to a different level!!

If Mumbai is known for the huge idols touching the sky from where the almighty showers his lovely blessings!!! We Punekars – rather proud Punekar welcome Bappa in grandeur of the traditional Dhol-Tasha, lezim the colorful rangolis and even the air sings along with us – Ganpati Bappa Morya Mangal Murthi Morya!!!

Today let us just get briefed that why and how is Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated?

The first section of the Mahabharata states that it was Ganesha who wrote down the text to Vyasa’s dictation. Ganesha is said to have agreed to write it only if Vyasa never paused in his recitation. Vyasa agrees on condition that Ganesha takes the time to understand what was said before writing it down.

So, Ganesha began to write Mahabharata along with Ved Vyasa. They wrote Mahabharata in 10 days without taking a pause. They didn’t eat/drink anything during these 10 days. Due to this, Ganesha was dehydrated.

So, a layer of clay(mitti) was applied all over his body. Then he was asked to get in river and cool down.(Something similar to Ganesh Visarjan)

And this is why we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and immerse Ganeshji in water.

How is it celebrated?

Lord Ganesha – believed to be the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta), and the god of intellect and wisdom (Buddhi Devta).

Worshipped by nearly all castes and all around the globe – Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. Ganesha being everyone’s favorite be it the Bollywood celebrities or the common Man – I am sure everyone in our childhood must have gone crazy for the way the decorations will be done, who will get Bappa home, who will be the one performing the first aarti etc. The grand celebration starts with the installation of Ganesh idols in colorfully decorated temporary made structures – one which is made at our homes – where creativity just flows at peak – Bappa sitting on mountain type structure, at times on bed of flowers etc.  Followed by the rituals – Pranapratishhtha – the process of infusing the deity into a murti or idol, Shhodashopachara – 16 forms of paying tribute to Ganesha,

At the time of the ritual coconut, jaggery, modaks, durva i.e. blades of grass and hibiscus flowers (His favorite flowers was what mom always told me from childhood) are offered and throughout the ceremonial occasion several hymns echoes down the mind of devotees bringing in a divine peace.

During the 10 days – if in case you have ever been part of the competitions that are held in societies, you will surely recall all those fancy dress where one becomes doctor, the other Bhaji wali and its all fun and enjoyment. 10 days just fly off in the air of happiness!!

On the last day, immersion of the statues in the ocean, or other bodies of water, and their subsequent destruction serves as a reminder of this belief. (These are traditionally known as Uttarpuja – Puja after which the idol could be shifted after it’s infusion, Ganpati Visarjan – immersion of the Idol in the river.)

Lastly. I would like to make an appeal – the tradition of immersing Bappa in river bodies was not a harm as the idols made then were of clay, mud and colurs were all natural and hence were no harm to the water animals! But in todays times the idols are all made of non-degradable material which harms the water diversity and endangers their living. Start a change from yourself immerse your “Ladka Bappa” in the artificial pools created by the local authorities.

(I am really proud that even though I was brought up in a traditional family where traditions are strictly followed as they were, on understanding the need to change our thoughts, we have been practicing Ganesh Visarjan in a self-made water tank sort of structure from past 3 years and will be continuing the same.)

Are You Emotionally Stable?

Stability – we run for financial stability, we run for stable house, stable family life…stable this stable that!!! But what about emotional stability, do we ever concentrate on that, rather do we even take a pause to think about that???

What is emotional Stability?

It simply means that you are synchronizing your thoughts with your actions in such a way that they contribute to the betterment of your soul!!! It means developing such lifestyle where there is harmony in what you do and what you speak!

How can you be emotionally stable?

  1. Learn to speak what you think?

It is better to speak right in front then to sit and back bite! Back biting helps no one, not the person about whom you speak neither one self nor the ones to whom you recite the entire conversation. Say for example – There is a person at your workplace whom you are not comfortable with but somehow you cannot express that to the respective person, you sit and blab ill things about that person during your lunch time outcome of which is you spread negativity everywhere, harming your own mental health!

  1. Either change the things you cannot accept or accept the things you cannot change:

There are only two options either you accepting the situation or you changing the situation, when you try sticking in middle is the time when you create pain for your own self! You get disturbed and spread the same vibrations of imbalance everywhere you go!

  1. Be choosy!

By saying be choosy, I mean to say evaluate all your choices in every possible way! Be selective in the friend circle you sit, the attire you wear, the places you visit, the words you use each and every small thing counts when it comes to sum up things about you as a person! Learn to choose things you want to do and things you want to avoid.

  1. Say no to negativity!

Keep yourself surrounded with positive people who have big dreams and are ambitious. Keep yourself into positive actions. In case situations do not allow you to have a positive outlook, try being neutral. Stop cribbing and start acting to solve problems. Things happen the way you think about them. If you have positive attitude of completing a task it will be done and vice-a-versa.

  1. Master your emotions

Cry when you feel like crying, not when people make you cry. It depends upon you when to react and how much to react. Not everything needs to be responded, few things can be ignored right away!

If you achieve success here, then no hurdles are too high for you. A healthy mind generates more output then a clever brain!

amazing balance blur boulder
It isn’t the stress that makes us fall, It is the way to respond to that stress that makes us fall!! and that is when emotional Stability comes into light!!!

Smile and Spread smiles!!!
