If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the inside.”
A wonderful quote read at one of our client’s premises! The audit place is usually seen as pressure and deadlines with an expectation to have a highly active mind to catch up all the discrepancies and hidden transactions of all the entire year! So here normally I am on a mood of complete professionalism where the usual chatter box of my own self is turned to on to mute mode and mind is all vigilant!
Gazing around the premises to take a rough idea of the nature of business, I came across this inspiring quote. It just took my attention away, as it had so much to be thought on!
Forces inside you can make you a complete new person – kind of ready to face the world! It can shape you and sharpen you! It had multiple meanings – and I could just not stop thinking ahead on every front! Being as simple as – People may scream that it is high time for you to continue and suggest to give up, circumstances may shout where you feel like that is all you can do but one single thought from your heart whispering to you in the lowest voice possible can get you new rays of hope. Smiling through all once if you trust that inner voice you might as well have a cake walk through all backbreaking situations!
Just sit back and think on this quote and start a journey of self-motivation!
Stalkers! Yeah a breed of evil which by mistake were placed as humans! The simple reason being that I am being so hard in words is that these ****** dont even realize that they just spoil a person’s life! Had it been that you got guts, come in front, stand face to face and talk why play hied and seek and make one feel so uncomfortable! How can you be humans when you can’t even respect someone else’s life! Whatever!
Are you stalked by someone ever?? Where you could actually feel your heart throbbing so hard as if it will jump out of your body breaking through all boundaries or simply legs shivering as if you were on vibrating mode or sweating in the AC room! And in the extremes where you feel like ending yourself was the only option!
Well, than this one is for you! So what will you do in such case, first thing just let people around you know about it, may be your friend, a colleague or whomever you are comfortable with!
Next, be bold enough to approach the authorities. Specially for the girls, feminism is not a synonym to weakness! Get up, speak up, voice your own issues because you cant expect your father/brother/boyfriend/male best friend or husband to be there all the time! Of course they are your strength but be ready to face it alone as well!
Few other things, dont let it bother your peace, because that is what the stalker wants, to scare the shit out of you! So just have your routine, update your friends with your daily schedule! And live the life your way!
Ignore! Learn to ignore what is not in your concern!
And lastly! For the ones who take hard and heavy decisions of quitting their regular lifestyle, keep themselves indoor, stop being social and all that stuff (with extremes as said before) People come and go! You get a life only once! Enjoy that gift thoroughly!!
Friends! Live and let live! Let your presence be reason to smiles and happiness and not tears and pain for others!!!
Well, Visarjan day has arrived, most of us still might be in the memory of Bappa coming home and that grandeur because 10 days just fly off with so much energy due to “Aagman”
Anant Chaturdashi! Everyone with a happy -sad face getting ready to bide a farewell to “Ladka Bappa”. 10 days of joy, celebration, happiness and enjoyment finally take a leave.
Just a story to narrate today, visualize it if you can!
A small boy named Tanush was as excited as everyone of us is to welcome Bappa to his place as this was his first year where he decorated the house for HIS welcome! In this lovely mood along with his Dad and younger sister he also made a beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha which was painted in all bright colours which he liked. Next day, the idol was installed with all traditions and rituals done properly, every morning Tanush was excited for new Prasad made by his Mom for his Ganesha! One fine day out of excitement, Tanush asks his Granny, “Naani, where is Ganesha’s home? I want to know his story and the innocent mind had a thousand questions popping up!
Q1. Naani, Tell me Ganesha’s story!
A1. Ganesha is Lord Shiva’s Son, who made all of us. He has come to stay with us for 10 days and see whether we do all our work properly, whether we follow good principles of life, whether we stay happily. He comes to solve all our problems and take away all our sadness! He fills our heart with new hopes and dreams!
Q2. Naani, If I don’t be a good boy will he complain about me to Shiva?
A2. Ganesha is here to be with you and teach you all good things of life. He is present everyday and every minute near you, but these 10 days he is specially here with you to make you feel that every new day is a new chance for you to improve and those who don’t learn from their mistakes, Ganesha doesn’t shower his love on them. He won’t complain to Shiva but he also won’t tell Shiva to give you special gifts!
Q3. Naani, What should I do to make Ganesha my Friend?
A3. Tanush, be good to everyone you meet, help everyone you can. In case you can not be of help, make it a point you don’t become hindrance in anyone’s way. Doing good does not mean ignoring the bad, if there is anything wrong around you take an action against it. Like your teacher gives you homework, Ganesha has given us a homework too, to spread positive vibrations in the world, spread vibes of love, trust and understanding. The one who does this homework becomes his favorite.
Q4. Naani, If I become his favorite what will he gift me?
A4, Tanush, If you become Bappa’s favourite, he will grant you success, you will clear all your exams well. He will give you all happiness and bless you with good health.
And the innocence had no end, he had so many questions and all the answers could be connected to life teachings if they were deeply thought.
When he comes in our homes he gets along with him tons of happiness and smiles, health and prosperity, good wishes and blessings. It is believed that “HE” is Sukhakarta i.e. creator of happiness and Dukharta i.e. destroyer of sadness comes to our homes for 10 days to spread the divine vibes and make our homes pure (not in terms of just dusting the old racks and clearing the clutter on the tables, he comes to clean our impure hearts which have so much of ill thoughts making us sick mentally!).
With his Visarjan today, lets all make a promise to ourselves to give up one bad habit of ours and adopt one new good habit and follow it religiously.
Be it as simple as giving up a bad habit of cribbing for everything that happens or giving up anger and adopting a new smallest habit like may be getting up early everyday or as simple as not hurting my own self by expecting from others!
The habit might be small but this act of yours will truly make the festival a celebration, it will indeed make Bappa much happier tha n those huge DJ’s playing his songs and aartis do!! Try it once at least!
Bappa che ladki mula apan, Evda tar karuch shakto na tyacha sathi!?
One of the most awaited festival of entire Maharashtra – Ganesh Chaturthi!!!
Where Lord Ganesha is welcomed with great respect, joy and love to everyone’s home!! Staying with us for 10 days, he makes the atmosphere vibrate in energy – all to a different level!!
If Mumbai is known for the huge idols touching the sky from where the almighty showers his lovely blessings!!! We Punekars – rather proud Punekar welcome Bappa in grandeur of the traditional Dhol-Tasha, lezim the colorful rangolis and even the air sings along with us – Ganpati Bappa Morya Mangal Murthi Morya!!!
Today let us just get briefed that why and how is Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated?
The first section of the Mahabharata states that it was Ganesha who wrote down the text to Vyasa’s dictation. Ganesha is said to have agreed to write it only if Vyasa never paused in his recitation. Vyasa agrees on condition that Ganesha takes the time to understand what was said before writing it down.
So, Ganesha began to write Mahabharata along with Ved Vyasa. They wrote Mahabharata in 10 days without taking a pause. They didn’t eat/drink anything during these 10 days. Due to this, Ganesha was dehydrated.
So, a layer of clay(mitti) was applied all over his body. Then he was asked to get in river and cool down.(Something similar to Ganesh Visarjan)
And this is why we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and immerse Ganeshji in water.
How is it celebrated?
Lord Ganesha – believed to be the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta), and the god of intellect and wisdom (Buddhi Devta).
Worshipped by nearly all castes and all around the globe – Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. Ganesha being everyone’s favorite be it the Bollywood celebrities or the common Man – I am sure everyone in our childhood must have gone crazy for the way the decorations will be done, who will get Bappa home, who will be the one performing the first aarti etc. The grand celebration starts with the installation of Ganesh idols in colorfully decorated temporary made structures – one which is made at our homes – where creativity just flows at peak – Bappa sitting on mountain type structure, at times on bed of flowers etc. Followed by the rituals – Pranapratishhtha – the process of infusing the deity into a murti or idol, Shhodashopachara – 16 forms of paying tribute to Ganesha,
At the time of the ritual coconut, jaggery, modaks, durva i.e. blades of grass and hibiscus flowers (His favorite flowers was what mom always told me from childhood) are offered and throughout the ceremonial occasion several hymns echoes down the mind of devotees bringing in a divine peace.
During the 10 days – if in case you have ever been part of the competitions that are held in societies, you will surely recall all those fancy dress where one becomes doctor, the other Bhaji wali and its all fun and enjoyment. 10 days just fly off in the air of happiness!!
On the last day, immersion of the statues in the ocean, or other bodies of water, and their subsequent destruction serves as a reminder of this belief. (These are traditionally known as Uttarpuja – Puja after which the idol could be shifted after it’s infusion, Ganpati Visarjan – immersion of the Idol in the river.)
Lastly. I would like to make an appeal – the tradition of immersing Bappa in river bodies was not a harm as the idols made then were of clay, mud and colurs were all natural and hence were no harm to the water animals! But in todays times the idols are all made of non-degradable material which harms the water diversity and endangers their living. Start a change from yourself immerse your “Ladka Bappa” in the artificial pools created by the local authorities.
(I am really proud that even though I was brought up in a traditional family where traditions are strictly followed as they were, on understanding the need to change our thoughts, we have been practicing Ganesh Visarjan in a self-made water tank sort of structure from past 3 years and will be continuing the same.)
The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who actually do that!!
In today’s run of life….where each of us just wanna learn, earn, save, invest, expand and still stop not, I was lucky enough to come across a unique foundation – Dyankala Sanvardhini Sanstha!
If I had to describe it in few lines, it would be like – Found by the women, for the women (rather girls and boys!!) and of the women!! Here from the helpers to the founders all were the ones, whom the society often points as – Bicharri akeli naari or something like “girls cannot move milestones all alone, they need men”….
Dyankala Sanstha – basically a school for the children who do not have a very strong financial back ground to spend that handsome amount and get enrolled in hi-tech schools!!! Found by few ladies who had a constant burning desire to educate the society – WITHOUT ANY SORT OF GRANT!!! These ladies along with managing their family responsibilities took up this noble task and continued even at the hardest times. Investing hard earned money in charity is actually something HUGE!! And they made this huge seem so simple to the world.
Working with same enthusiasm and energy was something which was and is still worth watching! The way these young old ladies come and plan for students, the way they run like school girls through the stairs, that spark to serve the society is just amazing!!!
Along with my principal (Sir) I visited the premises for a meeting regarding audit which was just done, as soon as we entered, Kolatkar Maam with her white hair, neatly tucked saree welcomed us with that bright smile saying “Welcome, this is like my second home, I enjoy being here and working for them. Entering the meeting room, we sat around with all ladies, and there enters a old lady in her 80’s who needed no support, loud in voice, and full of confidence!!
Radha Maam, Kogekar Maam, Shilpa Maam, Kusum Maam, the teachers, the co-staff everyone was working for the betterment of society. They devoted their time, money and energy to the foundation. Post meeting they had a discussion, in which one of them expressed that somehow she could manage to collect a donation of Rs 5000/-, and the way everyone rejoiced was like they actually were benefited personally. And looking at this, I actually felt like in some small way I would love to be a help, and extended saying, Maam In case I can be of any help other then the audits and financial statements, let me know I would feel lucky to donate something!!!
The foundation and its members actually made me believe that “Service to man is service to God”
On a sincere note, using this platform I would like to spread the message – If you cannot donate money, its fine, you have much more than that to donate and make world a better place to live – Donate your time in betterment of society, be a part of such foundations! You need not donate huge amounts, be it your birthday cake which you were gonna waste throwing on each other’s face can be someone’s source of books for entire year!
Think and create a change!!! It will be worth a living!!
Well, today scrolling down on my feed page, I just came across a more interesting definition of “Teacher” -and that was time!! Giving it thought actually dragged me to my laptop and blog something for the day!!
Thoughts just gushed after reading that line which simply read as “Happy Teachers Day” – Time
There were memories which took me back to childhood, when time taught me to get up by myself every time I fell running on that playground!
Then came the first ever time that I left dad’s little finger and had to face the world all by myself.
That first time I raised my voice against the injustice I saw in bus – Time taught me to be outspoken!
Then were the college days, when time taught me that nothing comes served in your plate, to get things one needs to walk out, turn and face some tussles, and there you get what you worked for!
Then I entered Chartered Accountancy and here Time finally became the ultimate teacher (May-November games had its own way to teach me struggle and work hard consistently)
Time taught me that wait and watch is only a myth – It is all about do and deserve!!
Time taught me that you can’t get aside by working hard for a day – you need to be consistent to give in your 100% and then expect that your result “CAN” be positive!
During articleship – time taught me to be patient enough to hear more and speak less! To learn more and preach less! To be a silent observer and reply only when asked!
Time taught me that you never get free time! Your priorities decide when you are free!!
Time taught me that once gone it never comes back!! Live each moment to its fullest, enjoy every minute as it passes by, because it slips off your hand in a way that just undone!! There is no Control+Z option available so simply create memories – good memories and Control+S!!!
Happy Teacher’s Day – To a common teacher for each and every person, of each and every age group!!!
One of the best days to honour a person who helps us in building the foundation of life – “Guru Pournima”. Yeah I said Foundation because no one learns things by birth, you are taught at times by life and at times by people in life… These people are though not always there to guide you for a lifetime they surely show you ways to come out of all difficult situations of life.
“They teach you come out of the storm even with a broken oar
The darkest clouds and windy nights are no more scary to soar
They guide you on the unknown roads
They help you solve the difficult codes!!
They throw light on darkest realities of life
They solve the mysteries of all the strife
They mould the clay to shape of pot
They help you and your dreams to tie a knot”
They are amazing… A tribe of people who are working towards the betterment of society.
Well, are you a teacher??? Yes you are… if you inspire your own self for being better than what you were yesterday. If you help your friends excel in their academics… If you assist your co-workers to work in better style….You need not have that blackboard and chalks to be a teacher…Life experiences makes you learn and tech as well…. You are a teacher at times knowingly and at times unknowingly.
So, it is everyone’s day…Happy Guru Pournima to everyone out there!!!
But then, before summing it all, there is one biggest teacher for everyone, be it a newborn or be it a old man, be it that street beggar or be it a man in his Benz, be it anyone. This one teacher is common to all… By now you all must have guessed it right? The teacher is none other than LIFE!!!
The greatest teacher of all times… I remember reading a forwarded message which had so much truth in it….Life is a teacher which tests you first and then teaches you (too deep to get the actual meaning I want to convey) And it is so very true. Life puts you in situations where you cant even see your self surviving but it also shows you ways to come out living a more luxurious life than before!!!
Keep learning…Keep teaching!!! Enjoy the beautiful gift – LIFE!!
