Communication

This question peeped through my mind all the while throughout the day as I was sitting on the first bench of my Orientation Programme before starting my articleship days “As to why this 35 hours are a necessity when all you do here is just speak, chatter all round and nothing else?”

The question hovered me even on the last day and I wondered when will it be answered. And yes! It was answered rightly on the very first day of my articleship (where I was interviewed before, which as well included communication skills – because the interviewers didn’t scrutinize my results deeply, all they were interested is the way I present myself). It was my first day of articleship where I was accompanied by my senior and colleagues, and I was handed over a file to compare the TDS as per books, TDS certificates along with form 26AS. I was blank because all this was read in books but I never knew how to download 26AS, neither was I thorough with the accounting software. I kept staring at the files for a while with an awkward look till my senior came and with the bossy voice instructed me – “If you aren’t aware of things, ask for help and start working immediately!!” And then, I understood why was OP conducted, those 35 hours did work miracles and I could get through things.

Basically, not only on the office desk but at every platform communication plays crucial role. Giving you an example how effective communication helps you to make the listeners visualize better and in turn it makes the process of understanding the facts better. Let us just compare – and ask yourself which sounds better and conveys better.
1st way – I started my morning with coffee
2nd way – I opened the chilly winter morning by treating myself with a steaming hot aromatic coffee.

I am sure the second way makes you feel the situation right. Same happens in our teams while working, if we can convey the ideas well, we can convince well and gradually that affects our career growth. There are many ways through which we can be effective communicators like effective listening, reading of facts and having knowledgeable content to share in the right manner with the RIGHT TONE (very important when you are in a verbal conversation)
Simple way to start can be add minute details to your observation and these will be automatically added to your words.

Speak sensible and Spread your ideas.

Will miss the perks WICASA gave me!

Few experiences are memorable – for simple reason being that they have huge stories behind them. Well, this was one such experience of life to me!

Pune WICASA – I wasn’t elected formally but then yes I was happy to receive a whole-hearted welcome from entire team! A year full of learning and overfilled with good bad experiences – some teaching me life time lessons and some giving life time memories!

Entire tenure was full of one concept which I strongly believe – NETWORKING! The one great thing that WICASA taught me was to market your ideas, to sell your thoughts, to gather reviews – basically a year-long GMCS program kinda thing (CA Students can relate to this better!!)

Going from person to person – Learnt a many things from many every one – Anjor taught me to be a good decision maker, something like one decided always followed sort of rule! Hemangi taught me to create rather than simply imitate! Sairaj – this man for sure has taught me to connect better and use those connections effectively. Dhanajay – to continue till the end if you dare to start something new, Raj – he always worked silently, well focused on his allotted area of work!

Rajesh Sir – This person has a really optimistic way to live life! For every new event we thought of announcing, be it the most complex situation his cool reaction would be like – “Aish, karde announce, ho jaega manage! Well calculated in risk and rewards! And yes! Something I have been following like a practice was – Life can work amazingly well on Excel Sheet!!!!!

The entire branch staff from Deepak sir to Reshma Ma’am, Swati ma’am to Shwetali Ma’am, Swapnil dada, Manoj dada, Vinayak Dada, Pinto Kaka and kaku – the best ever people to support you – be it a late night extra hours working or Sunday which was ruined for our event! They never made excuses for unavailability!

Yes! for sure all of this will be missed! The extra love and care from branch, all those lazy daisy hours at Branch which at times made me feel like it was my second home, those cranky faces for reimbursements, all those shared tiffins and kaka’s coffee!

Though the love and respect always pertains the days will be missed!!

Looking forward for all help and support to the new committee! Guys, enjoy your tenure, the more you add in students’ welfare the double is added in your personality at individual level!

Pune bags another award!

So here we get one more honor which simply adds a feather to all our efforts taken throughout the tenure. Pune WICASA as well as WIRC bags the best branch award in the mega branch category at regional level as well.

Mumbai – the city of dreams, was hosting the award ceremony along with the members’ meet. The evening had so many celebrities (of finance sector) is what I would call them who threw light on various issues backed with their suggestions for the new committees at national, regional as well as branch level. With all the speeches done right, the much awaited award ceremony started and it really felt honored when we held high the shields which had our name as “PUNE WICASA” encrypted on it. So basically both achievements of being the Best Branch at mega level, that too at regional as well as national level was not just the because few faces smiling and posing towards the cameras with trophies. It was an joint effort of all our Branch staff – our dearest admin – Deepak Sir, our editor and always ready to help Reshma Ma’am, The accounts team who literally called me to collect my reimbursement – Suvarna Madam as well as Ramesh Sir, Aarti Ma’am with her broad smile, Swati Ma’am with always fake anger on me but true care inwardly, Meenakshi Ma’am with best welcome smiles, Kaka and kaku for that ever readiness to freshen up our tired minds with the best tea and coffee ever. Swapnil Dada, Manoj Dada, Vinayak Dada with ever ready to pull my legs attitude, Shwetali Ma’am, Prashant Dada and Phadke Sankul Team. All our faculties right from Sanket Sir to Sheetal Ma’am, ITT faculties, GMCS and Orientation faculties, our speakers each and every one of them who supported our seminars, events with their enthusiastic participation.

And lastly, a word of gratitude as well as congratulations to the faces who represent all of them right from Anand Sir to WICASA committee members. Special thanks to Rajesh Sir who gave me an opportunity to work with such great minds and explore my own self!

WICASA!!!

At Bibwewadi branch with entire staff!

WICASA meri Jaan!

Tu hai meri Shaan

Pehchaan tujhise se iss CA ki duniya mai banayi

Mushkilon mai aage badhne ki Himmat bhi tujhise paaayi

I joined Pune WICASA with borrowed formals! Yeah! The day of election was unplanned opportunity knocking my doors through an intermediary named Miss Hemangi Kothari! WICASA and its committee never attracted me as I was unaware of the unexplored doors one can break open here! It was one of the best and quickest decisions of life! And I thank Hemangi as well as Rajesh Sir for shortlisting my name from the hundreds of options available.

So tenure started with boom – we had daily seminars, then we arranged for Sports League, Pune WICASA MUN 2018, Jallosh 2K18, Star of Galaxy and the events had just no end. All that got tested in this was the creativity level of the entire team and our skills to reach all students!

All those late evening meetings, those arguments in committee members, the ups and downs through out did pay us when we won the FIRST PRIZE for best students association in large category!

This being a joint effort of every single person, I would thank Rajesh Sir, Figgy, Hammy, Raj, Sai, Dhananjay, Aadi (and entire ex-committee), all our volunteers, Deepak Sir, Reshma Madam (for being on tip toes at any point of time we asked for help), Accounts team (for clearing our reimbursemnts in spite of delays, Kaka and Kaku, Vinayak Dada, Manoj Dada, Swapnil Dada, entire teaching and non-teaching staff at Phadke Sankul (special one to Sanket Sir to make us aware what students want), all our faculties and every single person behind the stage who constantly worked hard to help us achieve this huge success!

The committee at our capital – New Delhi to receive the award

Force!

If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If broken by an inside force, life begins. Great things always begin from the inside.”

A wonderful quote read at one of our client’s premises! The audit place is usually seen as pressure and deadlines with an expectation to have a highly active mind to catch up all the discrepancies and hidden transactions of all the entire year! So here normally I am on a mood of complete professionalism where the usual chatter box of my own self is turned to on to mute mode and mind is all vigilant!

Gazing around the premises to take a rough idea of the nature of business, I came across this inspiring quote. It just took my attention away, as it had so much to be thought on!

Forces inside you can make you a complete new person – kind of ready to face the world! It can shape you and sharpen you! It had multiple meanings – and I could just not stop thinking ahead on every front! Being as simple as – People may scream that it is high time for you to continue and suggest to give up, circumstances may shout where you feel like that is all you can do but one single thought from your heart whispering to you in the lowest voice possible can get you new rays of hope. Smiling through all once if you trust that inner voice you might as well have a cake walk through all backbreaking situations!

Just sit back and think on this quote and start a journey of self-motivation!

Smile and spread smiles!!!

Dear ICAI

CA Students!! A crowd of more than lakhs of students coming from various backgrounds – son of farmers, daughters of Rickshaw drivers, brothers of unmarried sisters and sisters to a crew of siblings which are dependant from her come to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune with one single dream of being a Chartered Accountant!! Yes!! That one prefix with name “CA” is which these students struggle hard for years, be it with classes, repeated attempts or with articleship!!

खैरात मै तो हम CA Students ने आज तक कुछ नही मांगा! ना मांगेगे because we are proud students of only one of its kind institute of the country who does not entertain caste system! यहा जो भी clear करता है वो सिर्फ अपने दम पर है! ना किसी की दुआ ना किसी की मेहेरबानी! Its all because of the sleepless nights spent and the wee morning studies!

But today, we students request! Yes, we REQUEST! Dear ICAI!! Please amend 39(4)!

For those who aren’t aware of the said section and clause – as per 39(4) of The Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988 – The revaluation done will be within a month of the declaration of result for which a nominal fee will be charged by institute. The Fees shall be only for verifying whether the candidate’s answer in any particular paper or papers have been examined and marked and not for RE-EXAMINATION OF THE ANSWER!

Our request to OUR institute is only that we need an amendment in the said clause. And this is not something out of the world. Nearly every renowned university has such provisions of rechecking and re-evaluating. As very well explained by the eminent teachers of our field – I would like to highlight that IT IS OUT RIGHT!

इतना तो professionalism institute ने हमे सिखाया है, whatever we ask will never be something wrong or baseless! This is our sincere request to #dear ICAI amend section 39(4). Change is needed and I support change!

Jallosh 2K18

A wonderful event…. Like every other beautiful day that rises up with a awesome sun and ends with a mesmerizing sunset… Something same happened at Jallosh 2K18!!!!

Of course special thanks to all committee members with chairperson and chief guest as well as our judges, participants… Each and every volunteer out there who literally gave up their comfort level and took up the responsibility of the tasks allocated, the branch staff for kindest cooperation, the event organizers, the sponsors and the most important all viewers…..the people who made the event be a success!!!!

To follow the fun at jallosh 2k18 do visit Instagram

Calmness

Reacting to every situation won’t take you anywhere… Try being a patient audience to the drama of life… Let it take it’s own twists and turns because that’s the way it has to be…

A diamond can’t be made in a cozy environment…It’s heated in heavy fierce heats and goes through huge discomfort to reach the stage we see it sparkling like nothing else does…

Similarly, be calm in all ups and downs of life…. If you wanna shine up bright!!!

Get up and work!!!

It was a failure….!!! A bad failure again and she was left broken…. Shattered down in pieces… Complete depression as to what next… Because the result of course mattered a lot… And was like a gate pass to her dreams… CA!!! And multiple attempts were hand in hand… Was what she knew… But then not again was what her every drop of sweat she shed studying day in and out was screaming!!! But then that was it… The results were out and it was “FAIL
She did start doubting herself and abilities now… Can I do this? Will it be possible? Were the 1000 questions crowding in her mind… Hitting nails on her future plans, the pain of which could be seen flowing through her eyes!! In entire darkness, there comes a fairy… A fairy friend… “Figgy” and the time she wasn’t able to trust herself, this beautiful fairy says… Get up girl, you can do it.. Not because of any other reasons other then the fact – YOU HAVE TO DO IT!!! You chose the dream… You chose the path knowing that it was tough… Because you knew you could do it, because you knew you are that capable… Not everyone comes here, if you dared to step into this…. Just go and complete it… Just go and give it your best…

That fairy didn’t speak a word of sympathy… She didn’t say that “may be hard luck this time… ” All she said was… Girl, get up and put in efforts, somewhere somehow your dedication was 99% and failure was because you lacked 1% to give in your 100%!!! So don’t shed those tears… Perspire and rise up…

That fairy didn’t wipe her tears… All she said was “tears symbolize that you accept you fell short of efforts… So go and give in again… ”

That fairy didn’t even ask her to take a break for all her depression, she just said… Life played on you… Now its your turn to play back… You were thrown right on your face…
(where accept parents no one stood back with you) so now you have to throw back and prove… You are not a FAILURE. Its matter of your hardwork… Consistent hardwork… Your sacrifices…

You feel insecure about friends leaving you if you are not in contact, then remember people who leave are not permanent and people who are permanent never leave…

You feel insecure about your love cheating, then that’s not love because love binds hearts forever… And it promotes each others dream!!!

Right now… All you need is your career… Your attempt…your goal… Cz may be you will get out of depression in a day or two… But there your dad is still struggling hard to see his daughter’s failure… He still silently cries late nights and prays for your success… There your Mom still quietly adds that extra almond in your breakfast saying this will help you in good memory and you will write your papers well next time…

They both just wanna see you successful, Girl!!!!
Saying this… the fairy sums it up as “Start studying and stop pretending” FOCUS and the next result should be exactly what you want!!!
PASS

The Girl was lucky enough to get that fairy in her life… And boost her confidence!!!

Guys this one is for you…. A fairy for u…. If this was a attempt where you gave efforts and still had to accept a failure… Accept your mistakes and give it another try… Sit with your books… Avoid social media… Learn write read use any technique suitable for you… Just go and give the attempt, but this time like a warrior… You are wounded with an failure and in hindi it is said “Ghayal sher jyada khatarnak hota h” Go and give your 100% the result is waiting…. The prefix of CA to your name will be your reward!!!

Just give in your 100%, not a little less nor a little more!!!

(dedicated to a friend who’s been source of motivation to me… My Fairy…. Love u Figgy… Thank you… And I swear this time it will be PASS)

You choose!!!

Choice is yours… Your future is something what you create by the choices you make…

Basically you constantly keep making choosing things from the variety of options available infront of you…
Few choices are simple and don’t bother much… Like wearing black or white… Like a e-book or crosswords’ copy…like high heels or flats!!! It doesn’t matter even if you flip a coin and decide when it comes to such decisions… But every thing can not be decided so haphazardly and in such lousy way… Few decisions need to be taken wisely… Few choices must be made after a deep study as to how will the selection of option throw an impact on your life…

“Because life is a canvas… A plain white sheet where if you throw a colur once.. Somehow in some manner it will be a part of your final picture, you might hide it with a darker shade for your satisfaction that its not seen… But its visible”

So choice is yours… To make or to break… Both are in your hands… Both are dependent on your actions!!!
Choose wisely… Your friends, your career, your lifestyle, your habits… Because it is creating you… It is making a impression of what you are…!!!!

Smile and spread smiles
